Terms of sale

The short, fair version.

These terms cover apps and downloads bought from Sheikhira. The seller’s details are on the Legal page.

1. Who sells to you

Payments are processed by Stripe, who act as merchant of record. Stripe takes your payment, handles tax and sends your receipt. Sheikhira supplies the digital content and licence and is responsible for it.

2. What you buy

You buy digital content: a download, a licence key for an app, or a subscription that keeps a licence active. The product page describes what each one does, which devices it runs on and any device limit. Prices include any tax due.

3. Your licence

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the content for your own purposes, on up to the number of devices stated on the product page. For a subscription, the licence lasts while the subscription is paid. You may not resell, share or redistribute the content or licence key, or try to get round the licence checks. The content and its copyright stay ours.

4. Your right to cancel

Normally you could cancel an online purchase within 14 days. For digital content that right ends once the download or access starts. Before you pay you tick a box agreeing to the following, and the content is made available straight away:

I ask for immediate access to the digital content. I understand I lose my 14-day right to cancel once the download starts.

If you have not yet downloaded or activated anything, email hello@sheikhira.com within 14 days of buying and we will refund you in full.

You can cancel a subscription at any time. It stops renewing at the end of the period you have paid for.

5. Refunds

As merchant of record, Stripe may refund a purchase within 60 days, for example to settle a payment dispute. We may end the licence a refunded purchase paid for. Refunds go back to the card or account you paid with.

6. If the content is faulty

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, digital content must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If it is not, you are entitled to a repair or a replacement. If we cannot fix it within a reasonable time and without significant inconvenience to you, you can have some or all of your money back. If faulty content we supplied damages your device or other digital content, and we did not take reasonable care, we will repair the damage or pay you fair compensation.

These terms do not affect your legal rights. Email hello@sheikhira.com with what went wrong.

7. Our responsibility to you

We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or not using reasonable care. We do not exclude liability where it would be unlawful to do so. The apps are for personal use; we are not responsible for business losses.

8. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by Scots law, and the Scottish courts can hear any dispute. If you live elsewhere in the UK you can also bring proceedings in your local courts, and the mandatory consumer law of where you live still protects you.
